Russian Manicure in Berlin
Curious about the technique behind those neatly shaped, glossy nails? Here is what to expect at your first Beauty Routine appointment.
If you have seen Russian manicure on social media and want to try it in Berlin, start with what the appointment actually includes. At Beauty Routine, we combine detailed nail and cuticle work with a reinforcing layer and gel polish. The service costs €60 without extensions and takes around 1.5 hours. This guide explains the technique, the finish and what to discuss before your first visit.
What is a Russian manicure?
At Beauty Routine, Russian manicure means a combination technique: the nail technician uses an electric nail file, or e-file, with specialist attachments alongside other manicure tools, paying particular attention to the cuticle area and a neat outline. Our service also includes a layer of product to smooth and reinforce the nails, followed by gel polish.
Russian manicure describes the preparation technique; gel polish describes the coating. They are different parts of the appointment. Extensions add length and are another option. On German salon menus, you may see the term Russische Maniküre. Always check whether removal, reinforcement, colour and extensions are included. Our manicure and pedicure page (in German) lists our nail services.
Each of our nail technicians has more than five years of experience with this technique. Before starting, discuss a comfortable length, your preferred shape and how you want the cuticle area treated. Cuticle work has risks as well as a visual effect; we explain what to consider below.
Soft nudes or a bold colour: make the look your own
Short nails in a soft nude shade are easy to wear every day. With a simple colour, the details stand out: the shape, the precise edges of the polish and the smooth surface. A glossy finish catches the light as your hands move.
If you prefer bright red or extra length, mention it when booking. Our clients ask for everything from short, understated nails to extensions with rich colour. Your preferences and everyday routine help guide the choice.
You do not need extensions for a polished look. Bring a photo you like so we can discuss the shape, length and finish, and how to adapt them to your nails.
What happens at your first appointment?
First, we discuss the result you would like. You can show a reference photo or compare colours on nail swatches. Tell us before the treatment if you already have product on your nails or would like nail art.
Where needed, the technician removes your existing coating, shapes the nails and performs the combination manicure, including work around the cuticle area. Next comes the product layer that smooths and reinforces the surface, followed by gel polish cured under a nail lamp.
New to booking nail appointments in Berlin? A photo and a short description such as “short, softly squared nails, milky colour, no nail art” can help communicate your preferences. Beauty Routine is a Russian-speaking salon; if you would like to communicate in English or another language, contact us before booking to check what is possible with your technician. Agree on the length, shape and any extra charges before work begins.
Cuticle care and tool hygiene: what should you know?
Consider how much cuticle work you are comfortable with. Damaging the cuticle can increase the risk of infection. Dermatologists recommend avoiding cutting it or pushing it back forcefully. An experienced technician and properly processed tools do not make intensive skin removal risk-free.
If you prefer to skip cuticle work, tell us in advance. We can leave out this step, but the appointment will differ from our full Russian manicure, so the service needs to be agreed separately. You should not have to tolerate pain or bleeding: tell your technician immediately and ask them to stop.
We use a dry-heat steriliser for reusable tools. If you have questions about cleaning, disinfection or single-use materials, ask before the treatment begins. You should understand how the tools have been prepared for your appointment.
How much does a Russian manicure cost at Beauty Routine?
Russian manicure with gel polish, without extensions: €60. Allow around 1.5 hours. The price includes removal of the previous coating, manicure with cuticle work, shaping, a smoothing and reinforcing layer, coloured gel polish and curing under a nail lamp.
With nail extensions: €70. If you would like extra length, mention this when booking and check how much time to set aside for the appointment.
Nail art and intricate designs cost extra. Show your reference before the treatment and agree on the total price, so you know which elements are included and which are additional. You can pay by card or in cash.
How long does the gel polish last?
For our manicure with gel polish, three to four weeks is a guide. Nail growth, length and everyday wear affect how the finish looks over time. This is not a promise that everyone’s manicure will remain unchanged for four weeks.
A gap from nail growth and a chip in the coating are different things. If the product lifts or a nail is damaged, contact the salon rather than waiting for your next scheduled visit.
Free chip correction within the first week. If a chip is caused by our workmanship or the material, we will fix it free of charge. Contact us within the first week and explain what happened. This applies to those chips specifically; it is not a guarantee covering every type of damage or the entire wear period.
What to tell us when you book
- Your preferred look. Send a photo or a short description, such as “short oval nails with a soft pink colour”.
- Your current nails. Let us know whether you have gel polish, another coating or extensions that need removing.
- Your needs and preferences. Mention sensitive skin, previous reactions to nail products or any steps you want to skip. If language is a concern, check communication options before booking.
- The service you need. Tell us whether you want extensions or nail art so we can allow enough time for your visit.
